Best Kids Fishing Rod and Reel Combo UNDER $20!
Here is my detailed review of the Plusinno 150 Telescoping Fishing Rod, Reel & Tackle Set. The company sells it as a Kids Fishing Rod, but it's not a "kids toy fishing rod" that looks cartoonish like the Paw Patrol or Iron Man ones. It's actually built to be able to catch fish! It’s perfect for a little bit older child who has outgrown the little kids stuff like Zebco spincasters or the Barbie rods. My 10 year olds had a really good time with it!
The set includes the rod, reel, line, a small amount of tackle and a tackle box. It’s got everything you need to get started without any hassle, and everything fits right into the little case it comes with! I was pretty impressed with some of the tackle, honestly, especially the little jerkbait. I caught a bunch of fish on it before a toothy critter broke me off!
The best part is that this ENTIRE kit sells for less than $20 on Amazon!! It was $36 when I tested it but right now it’s come down in price. For that amount of money, I would say that overall it's a really good deal. If you'd like to buy something self-contained and easy for a child to use, or even if you are looking for a small scale setup just to throw in the back of your car, it doesn’t get much more portable than this!
It's ideal for a pond or small lake, where you might be targeting bass or panfish. In fact, I caught three chain pickerel on it in my local pond. (Watch the video to see them!)
